Jessie Batterson - Director/Teacher -

Hello Tutor Totter families!  My name is Jessie Batterson.  I have lived in Auburn over 20 years and absolutely love it here.  I have been working with children since I was 16 and always knew I wanted to pursue a career working with them.

I attended Sierra College where I received my Associates Degree and then continued my education at Sacramento State University where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development.

I have been with Tutor Totter since 2008, where I started as a working Aunt for my niece.  I immediately fell in love with the preschool and was very fortunate to be offered a job.  The only 2 children I currently have are four legged -- my dog Daisy, who loves to visit the kids on Date Nights, and my cat Boo.

I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.  I look forward to working with and getting to know you and your children.

Danielle Sjotvedt - Assistant Teacher -

Hi everyone! My name is Danielle Motto-Sjotvedt. I am a single mom to two beautiful girls and I have always loved working with children. I worked as a full time nanny from the age of seventeen until I had my first daughter in 2008. I had my second daughter in 2010 and have been a stay at home mommy for the last seven years. I realized how much I enjoyed working in the preschool environment when I put my oldest daughter in a parent participation preschool in 2012. I’m currently working towards getting my degree in early childhood education and feel very privileged for the opportunity to work at Tutor Totter as an assistant teacher. I have worked at Tutor Totter as a participating parent with my youngest daughter and have absolutely fallen in love with the schooland its creative play-centered style of teaching. Working as a participating parent has given me some great insight into how beneficial this preschool program is for children and it also has given me some wonderful experience with how the school functions on a daily basis. I also lovehow the co-op preschool experience keeps parents involved in their children’s education. I look forward to getting know all of you and working with both you and your children in the coming year.

Aimee Schubert - Substitute Teacher

I started my journey at Tutor Totter in 2005. My husband and I were looking for a preschool environment for our oldest son. We were not looking for a co-op school in particular, just a fun place for social interaction and skill building for our toddler. At first we were a little apprehensive with all the requirements that went along with a co-op, but soon fell in love with everything and everyone about Tutor Totter. I put in my time as a participating parent, helping in the classroom and as a member of the board (membership coordinator, secretary, and 2 years as board president).
In 2008 I was asked to join the Tutor Totter staff as a teacher assistant and then as a Tuesday Thursday teacher. This was the perfect fit as I had one son finishing his last days as a preschooler and moving onto elementary school , and another in his mid preschool learning experience. Besides the knowledge of the way the school was ran, I also had the right amount of educational units needed to accept the perfect job for my family!
Currently, as I type this, I reflect back on many happy memories, forever friendships made, and a wonderful school that bring so much enlightened learning to preschool age children in our community.
